24​​​#2 pencils with erasers

3​​​Folders with pockets

2​​​Soft, large erasers

2​​​Red ball point pens

1​​​Sturdy zippered pencil pouch (no boxes)

Community items, will be shared—Please do not label community items

1​​​Package of loose leaf WIDE ruled notebook paper

2 ​​​Large boxes Kleenex

2 ​​​Large boxes of hand or surface wipes

1​​​Elmer’s Glue All, 4 oz bottle

2​​​Glue sticks

1  ​​​Bottle hand sanitizer with pump, 10 oz or large

Over the summer, reading and practicing those math skills are the most important things for students to do to be ready for the next grade. Please make use of the Scholastic reading program. It is a great way to motivate and reinforce reading.    You can log in with the unique username and password you received from Mrs. Muzzey or me, or you can register on the website www.scholastic.com/summer. Another way to help prevent the summer slide is by taking advantage of the Tenmarks math program.  See the information and access code below to sign up.

Have you signed up for the Scholastic summer reading program yet? The theme is READING UNDER THE STARS. 

Our class is participating. Each student has received a unique screen name and password. It's easy to get started. Go to www.scholastic.com/summer and log-in with the assigned name and password. You can help set a new world record for minutes reading. It continues through September 5th.  The website has virtual rewards, recommended book lists, and activity suggestions. Much research has shown that the more you read, the better you get! So...

Another way to encourage kids to read is to allow them to select their own books. A great way to do this is at the book fair, happening June 6th though June 11th. Kids will visit during the school day. You can send money with them or visit after school from 3:00--3:30. The fair will also be open on Sunday from 11:00--1:00 and Tuesday after school until 6:30!
