Thank you to our Loyola Senior Mitch!
Today was the last day for our Loyola High School senior, Mitchell Algert. He has been completing his Loyola Senior Service project and helping in third grade for the last three weeks. The students in third grade have really enjoyed getting to know him.

Photos from PS Science with Miss Julie
Students learned about Newton's Laws of motion. They had a chance to work with Newton's Cradle and discover why we wear seat belts. Thank you for a great lesson Miss Julie!

STAR Testing
Hello Third Grade Parents,
The week is off to a great start and has been very busy. We began STAR testing today and will test again tomorrow and next Wednesday. Due to STAR testing and preparation for Sunday's Open house, we will postpone this weeks spelling test, until next Friday, January 27. The best preparation for testing is a good nights sleep and a healthy breakfast before school. Please encourage your child to try their best and to really take their time to carefully answer each question.
We continue to work on timed tests for multiplication, which will be given each Tuesday and Thursday. Students know which fact they should be practicing. Also, please encourage students to continue to read a minimum of 20 minutes each night. Students will continue to have regular spelling homework and math homework each night.
I am really enjoying getting to know all of the students. It is a terrific class. I am looking forward to meeting you this Sunday at Open House, from 11-1. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Medrano
